Kandy, the forbidden city in the heart of Buddhism

The city of Kandy, center of Buddhism (like the Vatican for Catholics) keeps one of the most important relics of Buddhism: the Buddha's TOOTH.

The Dalada Maligawa is the architectural complex where the Temple of the Tooth of Buddha is located.

According to legend, it was transferred from India to ancient Ceylon in the 4th century BC, after the cremation of Buddha.
